About PV Repair
Last updated: 3 November 2026
PV Repair is an independent knowledge site about keeping solar photovoltaic systems working safely and efficiently. We publish in-depth, practical guides to inverter error codes, panel defects, DC wiring and protection, batteries, monitoring and maintenance, written for the realities of Indian rooftops.
Why we started pvrepair.in
India is installing rooftop solar faster than ever. Millions of homes, shops, schools and factories now depend on systems that are expected to run for 25 years or more. Yet when something goes wrong, good information is hard to find. Owners see a cryptic code on an inverter screen. Technicians get a call about "low generation" with no history. Manufacturer manuals list fault codes without explaining their causes.
We started PV Repair to close that gap. Every guide explains what the fault actually means, why it happens, how to diagnose it safely and systematically, and how to fix the root cause rather than just clearing the alarm.
Who we write for
- System owners who want to understand what their inverter or app is telling them, what they can safely check themselves, and when to call a professional.
- Solar technicians and O&M teams who need structured troubleshooting procedures, test methods and reference values.
- Solar EPCs and installers who want to design and install systems that don't need repairs later.
- Students and new entrants to the solar industry who want to learn how PV systems behave in the field.
What makes our guides different
- Safety first. PV systems carry dangerous DC voltages that can't be switched off at the panels. Every guide flags the hazards and makes clear which tasks need a trained, licensed professional.
- Root causes, not just fixes. We explain the physics and the typical failure mechanisms so readers can reason about problems we haven't written about yet.
- Indian conditions. Heat, dust, monsoon humidity, lightning, voltage fluctuations, DISCOM procedures, monkeys and pigeons — we write about the problems Indian systems actually face.
- Original diagrams. Every illustration on this site — flowcharts, cause rankings, wiring diagrams, voltage scales and charts — is created by our team specifically for the article it appears in.
- Standards-aware. We reference relevant IEC and IS standards and manufacturer guidance, and we update articles when practice changes.
How we work
Our content is researched and written by the PV Repair editorial team and reviewed against manufacturer documentation, published standards and established field practice. Read our editorial policy for details of how we research, review, correct and update articles.
What we don't do
We don't sell solar systems, carry out repairs or offer paid diagnostic services, and we don't accept payment for favourable coverage in our troubleshooting guides. Where we recommend tools or software, we explain the criteria we used.
